Hi-jack Tate Modern [2004]
glue, card, paint, plastic
40 x 30 x 20 cm
In avoidance and denial of the regular frustrating route for getting shows (full time networking, 100% submersion into art world politics, suspension of rest of life) I have taken over this famous art institution: hi-jacking the landmark chimney with a beautiful glue structure which goes some way towards recognising a certain malness inherent in the structure. A model is made first — the intention simply being to capture the essence of the building not render it as a true architects model. Drawings follow, then the final piece of work is made to fit.
